Lost (a new theory)

Saturday, February 9, 2008
Ok so if you saw last week's episode then one question should be in your mind. Why is a group consisting of an army chick, a physicist, an archeologist, and a ghost talker... looking for Ben?

My mom's theory...

It all leads back to the pile of bones and things Locke fell into in season 3. The dead bodies belonging to Dharma. Bones = archeologist. Bones from dead bodies = The medium. The crazy insane island this is all going down on = physicist (perhaps investigating alternate planes of existence). Army chick = simply has the training to get those people there. ... So... do they know Ben led the mission that killed off the Dharma people? Do they want him for answers? Are they trying to get rid of our original Losties because they're in the way of a top secret investigation? Or do they want Ben because they were once a part of Dharma and want vengeance for their people? And what's up with this crazy pilot? No normal man would instantly notice a wedding ring missing off of another pilot's hand... has this dude been trained to notice things most people wouldn't?

What's going on here?!!!!!! And if you've been keeping up with the Find 815.com story... what's so important about the Christiane I and the people on it? What is Talbot's deal?!!

And speaking of boats! Was Penny's message to Charlie a fake? Why send a fake message warning them it's not her boat? So they won't get off the island!

And why are all these boats showing up at once? If the Christiane I isn't the same place Naomi and friends came from then obviously there is more than one boat!

AAAAAAAAAAAA! So many questions! Must keep notes.

first off, there's definitely two different, unrelated boats. one of them is the one naomi and friends are coming from that had been looking for the island, and the other is the christiane I which had been looking for the black rock, found the black rock, and also found the wreckage of the 815 at the bottom of the ocean. something i hadn't thought about until today is how they found two things in the same place in reality (the bottom of the ocean) which also both exist separately on the island......whoa, i just had a major thought. maybe richard died on the black rock at the bottom of the ocean, but he survived on the wreck on the island, and if he doesn't age then maybe none of the people who came on the plane crash will age either....hmmm

anyway, today at work jason was saying about the same thing as your mom. the one piece that doesn't fit is that these people obviously know who ben is, and they also seem to know what ben has done (they've gotta, right? how could they not?). their job descriptions all definitely point to some sort of reconnaissance mission as you pointed out; however, i don't imagine why they'd just think they could show up on the island, do some physics and paleontology and ghost-talking and then also kidnap a mastermind manipulative murderer who, as far as they know, lives in a well-guarded compounded with dozens of other people. the helicopter team clearly knows about dharma, and are probably there doing some investigating or something, but to think they could just show up and demand to talk to/take ben is crazy. that just doesn't seem to fit, unless i'm missing something

as for penny, remember at the end of season 2 there was that outpost in the freezing arctic that gave her a phone call saying something like "we've found it" when the hatch had imploded? and remember how in the hurly flash-forward episode he was drawing an igloo just before he imagined charlie? i wonder if that's related too. hmmm

Whoa, yea good point about the Black Rock. It's odd how we're beginning to notice things now that were so obvious before.

As for Ben... well we know for a fact he is why they are there. So obviously they had some kind of plan when it came to finding him. It's got to be more than just showing up and hoping for the best.

But the post was mostly about that pile. I just really thought the idea of some of this being about that pile of bones to be interesting. I mean I wouldn't think it would be about JUST that but I would think it would have something to do with it.

Also that's a good theory about Richard. Though I was beginning to just think one of his biggest fears for some reason was growing old. Like Locke's big thing was not being able to walk and now he can. Or Jack's thing would be not being able to help people, or to lead and now that's all he does... I dunno. My idea's a stretch... Richard's just strange.
